Barbie
Barbie Tunes

Since the inception of the Barbie doll in the late 1950s, dolls and culture would never be the same again. More than an ordinary doll that little girls would play with, Barbie became such a success because it was able to embed itself in pop culture throughout the years.
Now, more than just dolls and doll accessories, the Barbie brand has permeated everyday items through books, video games, movies and even music.

Of course, when Barbie was just a doll, she was already into music since one of her careers was that of a rock star. The popularity of that line owed its success to the insistent marketing through television as all other Barbie products that have come before and after it.

The television ad for Barbie and the Rockers featured Barbie and friends dressed in rock star outfits complete with rock star hair and accessories. Barbie and the rock stars were on a stage portrayed as giving a rock concert with their own brand of Barbie music to further enthrall Barbie fans worldwide.

The commercial of course came with Barbie music in the form of a jingle that had a catchy tune singing the name of the Barbie line over and over again.
Now, decades after Barbie and the rockers, Barbie music is more than just imagined. Barbie music has been produced for the soundtrack to accompany Barbie's many appearances in movies and storylines. One such example is the Barbie line of full length fairy tale stories.

There are also Barbie toy CD players that play pre-recoded Barbie music. However, more than that, Barbie also does her own endorsing of popular music other than those produced for her. Barbie music may also mean music that Barbie would endorse, and she has been known to do just that in the past as Barbie dolls were produced as a real boy band groupie.

Whether Barbie decides to have her own album to finally branch out into actual Barbie music should hardly surprise anyone. Any line of Barbie branded items have brought success. Barbie has been an immense and constant part of pop culture and may continue to be so. Music, being an integral component of pop culture, lent its support to Barbie's fame in a pop song with the title that carried the Barbie name.

Although in this particular song, Barbie was not portrayed positively, there is no denying the popularity of Barbie that has earned her the ability to be topic of popular music written and produced by popular musical bands.
